What feed, chicks and birds are really costing
Every Broiler.ai calculation starts from a published planning default for your region. Growers can report what they actually paid or were paid, and once a region has at least 3 reports from two or more people in the last 60 days, the pooled middle figure is shown next to the default. Only medians and a spread are ever published — never a farm, a name or the town you typed.
Planning default against the market
| Price | Planning default | Reported median | Range | Drift | Reports |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Broiler feed per kg | $0.85 | — | — | — | <3 |
| Day-old chick each | $1.40 | — | — | — | <3 |
| Live weight per kg | $3.30 | — | — | — | <3 |
| Dressed carcass per kg | — | — | — | — | <3 |
Where the reported median has drifted far from the default, the market has moved and the default is the one to stop trusting. On a paid plan you can save your own prices against a farm so every plan, report and answer is costed on them instead.
Report a price you have seen
A group needs 3 reports from at least two different people before anything is published, so one report can never be read back as one farm's price.
Reports older than 60 days drop out of the pool, so the figure follows the market rather than averaging a whole year. Broiler.ai takes no commission and sells no listing, so nothing here is a quote — always confirm with the mill, hatchery or buyer.
